DoPT at the Rural Revenue Transformation Workshop

In April 2026, Vivian M. Cook (Engage and Amplify Rural Program Coordinator) joined Reynolds Journalism Institute's Rural Revenue Transformation Workshop in Columbia, Missouri. During DoPT's session, Creative Cross-Sector Collaborations, workshop participants identified arts and culture assets in their communities — and how those assets could help connect their rural newsrooms with other local organizations.

Our friends at The Daily Yonder, Jan and Sarah, also facilitated a session, and representatives from more than thirty rural newsrooms from across the country joined the workshop, sharing challenges, opportunities, and strategies for strengthening local journalism. Shoutout to the Reynolds Journalism Institute team for hosting and to all of the incredible rural storytellers at the workshop! We're excited to stay in touch!
