From October 7 - 9, 2025, Ash Hanson joined rural rockstars from across the country at the Radically Rural Summit in Keene, NH.

The theme for the 2025 Radically Rural Summit was Rural Resonance. Resonance is the force that turns a single vibration into something greater. It's how rural communities thrive. Rural Resonance explores the inherent interdependence that makes all life possible, and rural life is no different. No one community, sector, or species can thrive in isolation. Rather, we resonate–each strengthened by the whole.

Hosted by the Hannah Grimes Center for Entrepreneurship, this cross-sector gathering puts rural people and places at the center, with options to go deep on tracks like community journalism, arts and culture, education, clean energy, and economic development. And, the fall colors were stunning, too!!

Ash co-presented a session titled Rural Ritual with our friends Taneum Fotheringill from Rural Assembly and writer/artist Mai’a Williams.

as well as a session titled Cultivating Civic Participation, which she presented with our friends from CivicLex and New Hampshire Listens!

Radically Rural (RR) is a grassroots movement founded in Keene, NH, that aims to amplify collective rural impact by connecting folks with each other and with ideas. Through virtual Roundtables, their annual summit, chat groups, and more, RR offers a platform for rural leaders across the country to learn from each other. Every year, the RR summit in New Hampshire convenes hundreds of diverse and interesting people, cultivates engaging and memorable sessions, and offers great local food and entertainment — all wrapped up in an amazing small New England town experience.
